Facebook - stop putting event invites in the notifications tab.

I love using facebook. I like getting notifications on photos/comments etc, but I do NOT want a notification every time someone invites me to an event!
I come home after a day away from my laptop to dozens of notifications to event invites which means I miss the really important notifications. This never used to happen so, facebook, please, just put the notifications tab back to how it was and do NOT put event invites into the notifications tab.
